Lamprophyre dykes are reported from the Precambrian metamorphites of the Chotanagpur Gneissic Complex near Simdega, Gumla district, Jharkhand. Petrological and petrochemical studies indicate that they are calc-Alkaline lamprophyres. The economic significance of these lamprophyres is discussed in light of their proximity to (i) the gold prospects in its strike continuity and (ii) reported occurrences of diamonds in the major drainage basins of the region.- Impact of Poultry Birds Integration on Water Quality Characteristics of Fish Ponds in Coldwater Conditions

An attempt has been made to assess the impact of poultry bird's integration on water quality of the fish ponds of different farmers of the Champawat district of Uttarakhand state. Experiment was conducted for two integration level of poultry birds (10 and 20 chicks/100m2) having fish stocking densities 3.0 fish/m3 in triple replication. Chemical properties of pond soil directly influenced the water quality of the pond. A decreasing trend in soil pH and increasing trend in organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus was found in integrated ponds. All parameters of physico-chemical properties of water in integrated ponds were found in permissible limits indicates the feasibility of higher stocking of fish and higher level of poultry bird's integration in cold water conditions without any adverse effect on water quality. This might be due to the cool, clean and well oxygenated water of the hilly region. Keywords

Today, it is very important for developed and developing countries to consume electricity more efficiently. Though developed countries do not want to waste electricity and developing countries cannot waste electricity. This leads to the concept – Load Forecasting. This paper is written for the short term load forecasting on daily basis, hourly or half – hourly basis or real time load forecasting. But as we move from daily to hourly basis of load forecasting the error of load forecasting increases. The analysis of this paper is done on previous year’s load data records of an Engineering College in India using the concept of fuzzy methods. The analysis has been done on Mamdani type membership functions and OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) transmission scheme. To reduce the error of load forecasting Fuzzy method has been used with Artificial Network (ANN) and OFDM transmission is used to get data from outer world and send outputs to outer world accurately and quickly. The error has been reduced to a considerable level in the range of 2-3%. For further reducing the error
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) can be used with Reed-Solomon (RS) encoding. Further studies are going on with Fuzzy Regression methods to reduce the error more.

Treatment of straw with ammonia has been reported to increase its intake and digestibility. Oji and Mowat have shown an increased rate and extent of dry matter digestibility in vitro with maize stover ammoniated at elevated temperatures. However, the information on the extent of microbial colonisation and utilisation of fibre components of ammoniated straw are lacking.- On Relative Associate Curvature of a Vector-field and Relative Paralle- Lism in Finsler Spaces

Heterosis over better parent was estimated for seed yield and related traits in 16 crosses of pea. To ascertain the genetic causes responsible for the observed heterosis in pea, the estimates of genetic parameters realized from first degree (generation mean analysis) and second degree statistical (modified TTC) models have been used. Only one cross (HUP 9 X Pusa 10) was considered for generation mean analysis. In case of modified triple test cross analysis, 15 pure lines of pea were crossed to three testers viz., HUP 9 (L1), Pusa 10 (L2) and F1 of HUP 9 x Pusa 10 (L3) to produce 3n families. Significant average heterosis over better parent was evidenced for plant height, pods per plant and seed yield per plant. Heterosis for seeds per pod and seed weight was negative or low. The generation mean analysis revealed that the observed heterosis for seed yield per plant and pods per plant was mainly due to over dominance. Further, overdominance and higher magnitude of epistatic components [h] and [I] as was observed in modified triple test cross analysis, could be the possible cause of heterosis for seed yield per plant and pods per plant. For days to flowering, partial dominance could be responsible for the higher heterosis for earliness. Keywords
